Bronze Medal winner

The winners of The Coffee Pot Book Club’s 2025 Book of the Year Awards have been announced, and Lady of the Quay has won Bronze in the Tudors/Stuarts category.

The Coffee Pot Book Club promotes historical fiction. Its Book of the Year Awards is an international contest, with Gold, Silver and Bronze, plus an Honorary Medal award available across 20 categories.

Set in the English/Scottish border town of Berwick-upon-Tweed in 1560, Lady of the Quay is a historical mystery, the first in the Isabella Gillhespy series. Isabella is the daughter of a wealthy merchant, but when he dies unexpectedly she soon discovers that her inheritance is not as she had thought.

In the five-star review of Lady of the Quay, published by The Coffee Pot Book Club in May 2025, reviewer, Mary Anne Yarde says: “The vivid descriptions, well-developed protagonist, frightening antagonists, and engaging narrative come together to create a truly captivating reading experience. Lady of the Quay (Isabella Gillhespy Series Book 1) by Amanda Roberts is not only an exceptional work of historical fiction, but also a mesmerising tale that captivates the reader’s imagination until the very last full stop. Book 2 cannot come soon enough.”
