About Amanda Roberts

Amanda Roberts is an award-winning reporter and magazine editor with over 30 years’ experience of specialist business-to-business titles and events.

Her first novel, ‘The Roots of the Tree’, was published in 2014. Since then she has written a short story, some children’s stories and two more novels. ‘The Woman in the Painting’ is a dual timeline novel set in Islip, Oxfordshire, in 1645 and 2019, and ‘Lady of the Quay’ is the first in a new series of historical thrillers, set in Berwick-upon-Tweed in 1560.

Amanda is currently working on a sequel to ‘The Woman in the Painting’ whilst plotting the second in the Berwick series.

Amanda is a member of The Society of Authors, The Historical Novel Society, West Oxfordshire Writers and Oxford Independent Authors Group.

Amanda is also part of the 1in200.uk scheme, which supports independent Oxfordshire authors to get their books into independent bookshops and other stores, such as coffee shops. She featured in an interview with BBC Oxfordshire about the scheme.
