Local stores support local authors

Any author knows how hard it is to sell books, especially when you are relatively new and unknown to readers, and even more so when you’re an independent author. That’s why I’m really delighted that The Woman in the Painting has been accepted onto a new scheme in Oxfordshire called 1in200.uk and is now available in Mostly Books in Abingdon, with the Wallingford Bookshop (Wallingford) and Il Botanico Coffee Shop (Headington) to follow at the beginning of April.

The 1in200.uk scheme allows local independent authors to showcase their books at independent businesses across Oxfordshire, providing a valuable connection between the author and new readers. You might think that this should happen anyway, and doesn’t need a particular scheme to facilitate it, but believe me it doesn’t. There are many reasons for this, so it is particularly exciting that several local stores can see the potential benefits of the 1in200.uk scheme and have committed to it. I really hope the scheme is successful for all and that more local stores, and authors, will join.
